Urban
School-Community Leadership

“The fates of urban schools and communities are linked, yet school reformers and community builders typically act as if they are not."(Green, p.113)

School-Community Spatial Analysis

Our school-community profile was drafted using SAVI, personal experience, and community members. This showcased both strengths and areas of improvement for our community. As leaders, this showed us where we could step up and who to reach out to for support.

School-Community Assets

Our school partnerships are a large portion of our assets. Working with the leadership team we were able to sort our school partnerships. What we found is, we have to be intentional about maximizing the strengths of our partnerships. Those partners come from families, business owners, churches, and other community members.

Site Based USCL Activities

During my practicum, I was responsible for collaborating with CEISL (IU) and Brookside. CEISL received ESSER dollars to provide support at Brookside. This involved me providing strategic intervention, budgeting research funds, and advocating for students and families.
